LTD D-5 Strings

    LTD D-5 Strings

    Just bought a LTD D-5 Bass and I love it!!!   However there is some confusion about the strings.  The manual and website state that the D-5 comes with D'Addario XL strings in the 45-125 range.  It doesn't state whether the stings are the Pro Steels or Nickels.  Upon searching the D'Addario website they don't list any XL strings in the 45-125 range and based on the gauges listed in the manual it appears you can only get the 45-135 range.  Was the .125 listed in the manual and on your site a typo and is the B string actually a .135?  And are they Pro Steel or Nickel strings?  Thanks in advance for the info.  Really loving this bass!!

    Hello Tracy,

    This instrument uses D'Addario XL Nickel-wound strings, gauges 45-125.  This is not a standard D'Addario pack to my knowledge.  A 45-135 is a great replacement, but we suggest having your instrument set up to compensate for the heavier low-B string.
