Swap black covers for gold?

    I have an '07 Eclipse in Vintage Black.  It's equipped with the black EMG 81/60 tandem.  I'm wondering if I can keep the pickups, but just swap out the covers from black plastic to gold.  It's strictly a matter of aesthetics, not functionality.  I like the tone of the 81/60 setup.  Has anyone else here changed out the covers, and does EMG sell just the covers?  Thanks

    The "covers" of an EMG are actually molded onto the pickup. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to remove it.

    EMG makes pickups that have metal style covers in a bunch of finishes. The easiest way to get the gold cover you're looking for would be to find a set on Reverb or eBay and sell the black. They're easy to switch out because quick connect electronics.
