Black Residue on Fingers

One week ago, I received my brand new E-II Eclipse Blue Natural Fade. I've put many hours on this guitar over the last week and after each session, I'm left with black residue on my fingers. I assumed it was an issue with the strings (Elixir Nanoweb Lights) so I contacted the authorized dealer I bought the guitar from and they gave me a free pack of Elixirs to replace. After changing the strings, I'm still getting black residue on my fingers, so now I assume this is from the fretboard or frets themselves.

I'm just wondering what this is. Has anyone else experienced this, is it normal? I have no other issues with this guitar as it is amazing in every other way.

Yes, that would be the polish they use on the fingerboard. I too got this for about a week, now I no longer have that happen to me.

Oh cool, that's a relief, thanks for your response!

Same problem with my Edwards right now. It really sucks and shouldn't be with an instrument in this price range.
