50s C vs Thin U

50s C vs Thin U

Hey all, new to the forums looking for someone to shed some light on how the Thin U compares to the traditional 50s C shape.

Personally, I love that 50s neck and am looking at an E-II but don't want to commit til I get some idea about that neck.

Thanks, all!

Edit: it's a C shape according to Gibson

I've found that the shape of the neck really varies between the model of the guitar in the ESP/LTD/E-II lines.  They're all called Thin U, but the shape is slightly different.

On an Eclipse, the shape is similar to Gibson's 50's neck, but slimmer.

Thanks for the response, mate. Is it as thin as a 60s, you think? I'm not a huge fan of that neck as I have big hands and the neck gets lost in them lol.

Thicker than the 60s neck and a bit rounder overall.  I think it's a comfy in-between shape.

That's wonderful news, thank you!
