Does fits 500k Gibson Pots into the holes of Eclipse I ?
Hi friends of the forum...always is a pleasure read and learn in this forum!
This time i have a question that I can't clarify too much searching in the past posts.
I will change the EMG pickups for an Passive Seymour Duncan pickups (JB/59 set) and of course, also all the electronic. I know I will need 500k pots. But the question is if the 500K pots from Gibson will fits well. I read that for some reason, the Gibson pots doesn't fits well about the holes of the body and is best to look for Japanese Pots. Is this really true? I ask because for me is very easy buy Gibson pots (Thomann, etc...), but in case that I will really need buy "japanese pots", wich brand do you recommend to me? where is the difference between Gibson an "Japanese Pots", is about the diameter?
Thanks!!!!
Thomann does have fitting pots:

I ended up buying these for my EC-256 after first buying nice CTS pots (in retrospect obviously the wrong diameter) and alpha's from a shop which were advertised as the right diameter which they were not.
Seems alpha's are available in both diameters, I'd take alpha's over göldo tho but I've never ordered from stew mac and I am not sure what the cost will be for shipping to the EU and the risk of additional import cost if customs gets involved.
I've found this...looks like can fit well, right?
I will need to choose Audio or linear? Maybe 2 Audio pots for Volume and 2 Linear for Tone as I read in forums?
The prefix "E" göldo pots from thomann all seem to be 8mm metric,
Prefix "US" look to be wider, I do not see the spec's for those tho.

The Gibson pots are 3/8" and the stock pots in the guitar are likely 5/16". But there are plenty of high quality pots available in 5/16" diameters. I've used the Alpha brand pots from Stew Mac in the past.
