    ESP strings and good ones for EMG's

    Hi all

    Does anyone know what make of strings ESP ship guitars with?

    Also, as I've read elsewhere on here that string type/guage can affect tonal qualities of EMG pickups, any suggestions of a brand? I'm on 10's, standard tuning, A=440 (if that makes any difference).

    ESP used to use SIT strings.  I don't know if that's still the case.
    In general, the thicker the strings, the more "sound" it will put out.  I like the sound of bigger strings, but some people don't.  As for brand, find what you like.  The type of string, material, and gauge can greatly affect the sound.  Strings are cheap, experiment!

        I think ESP Switched from SIT to Cleartone. I am not a fan of the stock strings. I use Ernie Ball Slinkys in verying guages depending on the tuning. They sound good with EMGs.

            I will try the ernie ball Cobalt 10/13/17/30/42/52 for massive output with my emg 81 the next week.... I will let you know how how it goes..
