Just gusssing here :)
I send email to esp support but they havent send any reply to me....damn
Don't think SS is just for signature series because My Horizon is standard series and it also has SS at the beginning. I'm sure someone will be able to answer that for you.
To my knowledge SS stands for Standard series, which just means, no Custom Shop.
the CTM's start with the letters of the shop they are made in for instance K for Kiso.
about the dates and stuff.. from what I've read, Judas is right on the money.
Hey, does anyone know what year this was made? It’s a fender starcaster, and I can’t read much but it might say 8 or 0 in the messed up area. I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find it.

I think it's
SS is the factory it was built in
03 is the year it was made
20 is the 20th week of that year
3 is the day it was made 3rd day of week
06 means it was the 6th guitar built that day
so your guitar was the 6th guitar built on wednesday 14th of May 2003
