Hetfield's old MX's: Het sets in them?

    I know that James has his EMG Het sets in all his new guitars and of course signature models, but for his older guitars that he uses in the studio and that he's rehabbed to bring back to live use, is he keeping those 81/60, 81/81, or updated to the Het set even in his oldest vintage ones?

    When he toured with the Man to Wolf again in the Hardwire tour, he had Het Set on it

     

    i haven’t seen the Het Set in his old guitars that he uses in the studio

      Makes sense for touring, where you need maximum consistency and repeatability across multiple rigs, etc. Would be really interesting to know what he's doing in the studio.

        James Hetfield has been associated with EMG pickups, particularly the EMG Het Set, for his signature models and newer guitars. However, for his older guitars or those used in the studio, he might have different heardle configurations, including the classic EMG 81/60 combination that was commonly found in his guitars in the past.
