2008 ESP LTD EC-1000 vs 2012?

    Hello ESP fam - I am newbie to the guitar world and I am considering buying a used 2008 ESP LTD EC-1000 or a 2012 ESP LTD EC-1000. Both have the EMGs and are Korean made. The 08 is about $150 less than the 2012. Other than being newer did ESP make improvements to the 2012 model that make it a better buy than the 08? Thanks.
