The ESP Guitar Company

Looking for a new bass, thinking about either of these. I actually went into Sam Ash today looking for either a Ibanez SDGR900 or even a 4 string stringray. I played the 404SM at sam ash today, feels and sounds bad ass, but I've never really like the "blonde" look, although this one doesn't look that bad, and the EMG's are a plus. I like the look of the D-4, but it just has ESP pickups, which I've never heard, anyone have any thoughts on either of these?
