The ESP Guitar Company

I just recently received my ESP Horizon NT-II DBSB.  (I love it.)  The ebony fretboard is like none other I own, or have seen (noticed).

It is almost mirror-like, I can barely see any grain or pores.  Does it have a coating of some kind?

There are some posts regarding pros and cons of treating fretboards with lemon oil.  The ESP owner's manual does say to use lemon oil on ebony.

Just wondering if I can ruin this particular fretboard with lemon oil or any other common, off-the-shelf treatment.
