Andy James: Betcha Can't Play This

Andy James: Betcha Can't Play This

As many of you know, Guitar World Magazine has an ongoing series called "Betcha Can't Play This", which seems designed to show you that you are actually a much worse guitar player than you'd imagined. It features musicians from around the world who throw down their most mind-boggling riffs and leads, and the title couldn't be more appropriate; most of us really can't play the examples being shown, at least without a lot of practice.

That's certainly the case with ESP player Andy James's recent contribution to the series. Andy, on a customized white version of his LTD Signature Series AJ-1, plays a lick that uses alternate picking along with sweeping to confuse you even more, and then does it slowly so you can feel even worse when you can't even play it at a low speed.

When Andy's not making you feel bad for your lack of skills and/or heavy practice regimen, he's busy with his band Wearing Scars, who are starting a tour of the UK next week. Check them out!
