Metallica's James Hetfield is a very cool guy, but he doesn't sign very many guitars. If you think about it, we'd all rather James be playing guitars instead of adding his signature to them. But next week, someone is going to have a chance to own an LTD James Hetfield Signature Series Iron Cross that's been signed by hand by Metallica's frontman... a rare opportunity indeed.

STAR-FM, a rock radio station based in Berlin, is holding their annual Charity Day on December 13, and as part of the festivities, they've had James sign an LTD Iron Cross that is being auctioned on eBay. The proceeds from the auction will go to the Kinderschutzzentrum Berlin e.V., an organization that helps abused children and places them in homes where they'll have a better life. Sounds like a very good cause, especially around the time of the holidays.
