Kirk Hammett solos on new Exodus single

How cool is this? Kirk Hammett took a trip back to 1982 and rocked a solo on the new Exodus song "Salt the Wound". As you may know, Kirk was a founding member of this Bay Area thrash band before taking the lead guitar slot in another legendary group that you may have heard of... Metallica.

According to an article in Rolling Stone, Exodus's Gary Holt said "He came down and ripped out a bunch of takes, and we picked the best one and then had a barbecue and drank beer." Sounds like a good day to us! Now, check out "Salt the Wound"; Kirk's solo starts at 2:25, but don't let that stop you from banging your head to the whole song.

Sounds awesome. Exodus never lost it. Pretty good solo from Kirk. More aggressive than his recent Metallica leads.
