Jordan B.

Hi there, thanks for the response from my 1st question.  Sorry to ask the same type of question again, but I just purchased one of these guitars and it came with a very glossy neck finish, while every other part of the guitar is satin.  I'm wondering if this is a mistake/error from the factory.  The front, sides of the guitar as well as the back of the body and headstock are a matte "satin" while the neck section is 100% full gloss.  Any input would be appreciated.

Carl N.

Hey Jordan, what you're describing sounds fairly odd.  If anything, a gloss instrument might have the neck satin but doing a satin finish with a gloss neck is the opposite of what most players want.  I'd like to assure you that the necks of these instruments are satin but if you feel you picked up an odd one, send a message to our customer service team at customerservice@espguitars.com and they would be more than happy to sort it out for you.

Jordan B.

Hi there,  could someone tell me if the neck of this guitar has the same "satin" finish of the body, or is it more of gloss finished neck section on the back of this guitar?  Thanks for your help.

Carl N.

Hey Jordan, the neck and  back of this instrument will be satin as well.

Martijn R.

I am not sure why but I always thought a real maple cap was used on the 1000 series if a maple front was featured. Is this really a veneer? Is there no real maple cap on any LTD at all?

Carl N.

Martijn, the figured portion of the top will be a veneer but there will be a plain maple top under the veneer, hope this helps.

Martijn R.

Hello Carl, thank you for clearing that up! Was worried I'd have to scratch it from my whish list, it will remain on top!

RonPinotti

Does this model come with a maple cap?

Carl N.

Hey Ron, this instrument will feature a flamed maple veneer.  Hope this helps!

RonPinotti

What about the warranty card?

Carl N.

Hey Ron, all this and more will be available via the support tab of our website.

RonPinotti

I just purchased this guitar and I got to say it's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, plays like a dream just love it. My only complaint and I hate to say that cuz it's not really a complaint is the top is kind of dull can barely see the grain. Is there any kind of oil or product that I can put on the top to make the grain stand out a little more?

Carl N.

Hey Ron, glad you're enjoying your new LTD.  Figuring in wood varies from piece to piece, some having more figuring than others.  There really isn't anything you can put on the instrument to make this stand out more, I would actually advise against using oil on this instrument.  Oils and solvents on satin finishes can ruin the finish itself.

RonPinotti

How much does this guitar weight?

Carl N.

Hey Ron, on average about 8.7lbs but this can differ in either direction as no two pieces of wood are the same.

Colin C.

Is the toggle a 3 position switch so you  get neck and bridge pickups together as well as neck and bridge separate ?? I did not pick this up in the demo.

Carl N.

Hey Colin, yes this will be how the 3-way toggle switch works.  You can check out our owner's manual for more information regarding this.

Esidoro E.

Can this guitar come equipped with a Fishman Piezo setup as well or modified easily?

Carl N.

Hey Esidoro, a competent technician shouldn't have an issue installing a piezo system in this instrument.  Otherwise, we currently produce these two models with the system built in.

Lord M.

Is the neck on this guitar thick or is it more like a thin neck?

Carl N.

Hey Lord, all thin U necks will be 20mm at the first fret and 22mm at the 12th, hope this helps.

Alex S.

Is the usage of battery a mandatory? What kind of sound will I get if I won't use it? Really interested in this guitar but I don't want to have a guitar which can't produce a proper sound without battery. Thanks.

Carl N.

Hey Alex, all active electronics will need a battery to produce output but don't let that discourage you from this instrument.  These are a great set of pickups!  The cool thing about guitars though is that you can always swap out parts and electronics if you prefer other branded pickups or hardware.

Alex S.

Carl N., I understand where you going to, but I would like to buy a guitar where I don't have to change something  I was looking for Eclipse for a long time and now there is a good guitar with active electronics, which is no go for me. I think there should be an option.

Carl N.

Totally understandable Alex, keep in mind that there are millions of players out there and each have their own preferences as to what they prefer on an instrument.  While we try to make as many offerings as we can, at times it is not feasible to make every combination of hardware, electronics, color, and orientation available.

Dan B.

Great tone and very versatile, how much does it weight ?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Dan, the weight is approximately 9.5lbs.

Arnnav G.

Can I get a classic metal tone like Metallica or Megadeth from this guitar ?

Arnnav G.

Or would you recommend the one with modern fishman fluence pickups

Todd B. ESP

Hi Arnnav, If you want to get a classic Metal tone like Metallica we recommend something with an EMG 81 / 60 combination. This guitar has Fluence Open Core pickups which are geared more towards a passive rock overdrive tone. It's not the best choice for classic metal tones. If you are not wanting to try EMG and want to try Fishman then for sure the Fluence Modern Humbuckers are the ones to use for metal tones.

Arnnav G.

I think I will just buy the esp ltd Snakebyte

Todd B. ESP

Hi Arnnav, That should be a great fit for you we hope. Let us know if you do get one and how you like it.

David Mondragon

How does this guitar do in a high gain scenario? I think this guitar is super cool and very versatile but the video above doesn't address how the pickups do when playing metal.

Todd B. ESP

Hi David, All the Fluence pickups are very quiet. That's one thing I continue to hear from everyone who tries them. This particular pickup set is more geared towards classic rock, not heavy metal, however I'm sure that an overwound classic pickup can be tweaked for heavier music. This guitar should do fine if put through a high gain amp it just won't have that razor sharp edgy tone like an EMG or Fluence Modern. It will be warmer and fuller sounding.

Whoa! This is the guitar they are giving out to the winner?!  This is beautiful!  Whoever's the winner, he/she will be very lucky.

Todd B. ESP

Yep!

Colin C.

Love the looks and build of this guitar. What will be the approximate weight after chambering please?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Colin, the approximate weight is 9.5lbs.

MTH

Perfect Specs for me.... Love it
