These E-II SN guitars were like $1,700 in 2016-2017 but now they are $3,399? So they doubled in price for the same quality. What a joke!

I have had this guitar since it first came out. I haven't had any issues with it at all. Its one of the most versatile guitars I have every owned. I have a few of the mh series from back in the day, play them daily, in my opinion they are some of the most will made guitars on the market, I have played fenders , Gibson's, and a variety of others over the years, no woren frets, nuts, bridges or even tuning knobs. I don't know what goes into it on a production line or a custom shop, but keep doing what you do. And thank you for all the awesome guitar builds.

Hello,

I just wanted to let you know that the cog used to set up the Guitars action has been rotated down (whilst the instrument is strapped to my body) to its maximum rotation to the point where the end of the neck has a slight indent from the cog.

Unfortunately the action is STILL relatively high and it effects my playing to the point where I may need to sell this! As a quick fix, I have lowered the Floyd Rose tremolo by some margin. I really love this guitar as it's my number one axe. The main drag is that it is almost unplayable now as I found this out at my last gig. It seldomly holds it's intonation or tuning making me think It's easily altered by the weather and/or environment.

Help Please!

Kind Regards,

Nick

Hi Brandon I had to get a new Floyd as the tuning  problem couldn't be fixed at the shop I got it at (GuitarGuitar) The importer fitted a new floyd. Its much better but tbh I still am fine tuning after every few songs when practicing with my band. Your action sounds bad, I have lowered mine at the bridge down to the edge of fretbuzz territory (aprox 1.5mm 12th fret high E)  Another weird thing was when I first got it I was continually breaking the high E string and I reckon it was the ESP inlay on the 12th fret, I think the P had rough edges which led to the breaks. Its not happened in 6 months though so I think the rough edges have worn down. I'm interested in any updates from you Brandon. Are you in UK? Good luck....Dave

The neck contour on both SN-ii and horizon II indicated the same as Thin U, but when I test it at music store, it feels different from horizon ii, isn't it?? Seems less rounded

I bought this guitar brand new just before the UK covid shutdown in November and I'm afraid it's been a tuning nightmare. If I use the Floyd Rose the tuning goes sharp, if I just bend the strings they go flat. It has a great sound and feel however it needs tuned every 5 minutes. It's back at the store for the second time since they re-opened and it's been sent back to importer in Manchester for assesment. I messaged the store a few days after purchase and they thought it would "settle down" after a few weeks play. It didn't and if anything got worse.

My previous guitar was a Jackson with a Floyd that needed tuning every few weeks so after spending £2500 on the SN-2 I had expected the same.

I'm awaiting latest assessment and hope they can resolve the problems as I do love it in its in tune moments which as described are rather fleeting.

I initially went into the store looking for my forever guitar and tried all the major brands before settling on ESP who I hadn't really heard of.

So far it's proven a bad decision.

I have had mine for many months now and very stable, best of my 20+ guitars. Wondering if the one of the posts or the blades on the trem is damaged?

Brandon A.

I've had the same issue with mine regarding tuning since I bought it in October.. Noticed that the action had gotten pretty high (almost three times the height at the body vs the nut), that the neck had a significant up-bow, and the bridge was pulling backwards. Doing some surgery on this thing slowly -- hopefully it'll settle.

Is this guitar available in stock ?

Why does this guitar only come in one colour?
If it came in classic white & black for solid colours and something like the copper burst / purple burst and a flametop this guitar would sell thousands of units!

So I can't stop staring at this Buck Eye Burl, Natural Blue Fade top! Purchased this for a steal. Holding it as i type this now haha. If the frets on this model are not S. Steel. What are they? This workhorse shreds like a MF!

More importantly, the action seems high from the 15 fret. Kinda reluctant to mess with the truss rod. Any easy remedies to try first before going extreme? Because I just don't..truss...myself

Todd B. ESP

Hey Nickky, Glad you were able to get one of these beauties and we're happy to hear how much you love it!

The frets are not stainless but they are high quality nickel silver which are the standard alloy used for most guitars. However there are different hardness levels. Many people prefer stainless because it is much harder than the typical nickel silver alloy from the old days. However, the nickel silver alloys we use have a very high hardness level making them perform excellent. If you need help on setting up your instrument or adjusting your truss rod, I suggest you check out our owner's manual or go ahead and contact our customer service team at customerservice@espguitars.com . Excellent pun as well!

NicKKy

Oh okay.. So your owners manuals really are only accessible online? Also any forms of employment going on at ESP US/Jåpån/Australia? Super motivated to promote this guitar brand whilst learning & working hard...>_Ö \m/

I really would love this with a maple fretboard and a hardtail instead of a floyd (but still want the bolt on neck and headstock shape of this one which is why I wouldn't necessarily go for the M-II, although that one is also really nice)

Carl N.

Hey Jim, thanks a lot for your suggestions!

Emre G.

Hi people, I wanted to ask if an ebony fingerboard helps with neck stability.  I am generally preferring at least a quarter-sawn neck, better roasted and/or flame maple because  this is a big concern of mine. Cheers!

Carl N.

Hey Emre, shouldn't really be a concern.  Our necks are stable regardless of what wood comprises the fingerboard.

Hi, I saw in one of your comments that ESP doesn't use SS frets on any guitars except USA and custom shop guitars. Could you please explain why ? Personnaly it's a deal breaker for me. I have an LTD and wanted to upgrade to an EII, but without SS.... I guess I'll have to switch guitar brand. I'm sad !

Carl N.

Hey Jean, ultimately working with stainless steel costs more in both time and money and while we are working to make this more widely available currently this is only standard on ESP USA and custom instruments.  Such a shame you feel you have to switch guitar brands solely due to this.  Don't be sad, I'm sure you enjoyed your older guitars with nickel/silver frets before you learned about stainless steel.  Hope you're happy with whatever you end up with.

Aydin Z.

Dude checkout SN-1000FR, it has Stainless Steel frets, also roasted maple neck, it's superb, I'm getting one!

Wissam E.

I am interest in this guitar, but no demo videos available

Carl N.

Hey Wissam, you can check out our demo for the E-II M-II NT this instrument will have fairly comparable specs to the E-II SN-2.  Otherwise you can always contact your local ESP dealer to see if they have one for you to check out in person.

Josh T.

I bought this guitar recently and its STUNNING in person. Absolutely amazing quality, feels extremely solid and plays fast as hell. Worth every dollar.

Todd B. ESP

Hi Josh, Thank you for your amazing review. We're excited to hear that you like your new instrument and we thank you for giving us  a chance.

Robert D.

Are these stainless steel frets? I noticed on one of the other guitars you used nickel which I do not like.  SS are much smoother and faster.

Todd B. ESP

Hi Robert, These are not stainless frets. Currently we do not use stainless steel frets with the exception of our USA ESP series and as an ESP Custom Shop option.

Robert D.

Are these pickups standard size so that EMG's could be installed or Dimarzio?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Robert, yes pickups are standard sized, however each pickup manufacturer makes slightly different sizes of the "feet" or "legs" for the screws. You should be ok swapping pickups, if you had to make any adjustments you could modify the feet/legs of the pickups or you could open up the pickup route slightly at that point, but you should not have to alter the edge of the paint on top of the pickup route. hope that helps.

Patrick K.

....maple fretboard possibly?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Patrick, thanks for your suggestion. Maybe next version? Could be.

Jim Kirik

i second that idea
