I bought a KH-602 a few days ago. I'm waiting for the shipment (I'm from Italy, sorry for my poor English).

I'm thinking of getting one too.. not sure if I should get the black one or the purple sparkle one..

Hi,

I just received my new Kh602 and the bridge pickup height is lower at the bottom than the top.

the bottom side of the pick up is screwed down and is flush with the casing while the top side of pick up is standard height as the neck pick up.

is this normal or do I need to adjust the pickup height to be uniform as the top pick up?

Todd B. ESP

Hi, It is normal to have the bass side a little lower than the treble side if that is what you are referring to. Generally you want to hold the strings down at the end of the neck then check and see how much clearance there is between the strings and the top of the pickup. You can adjust it depending on your playing style too, but generally pickups are adjusted higher for more output volume and lowered to decrease the output volume (generally to balance the output volumes between neck  & bridge pickups). As you get closer to the strings, the pickup may get in the way of your picking hand, and the sound could get distorted if you are too close. More more help on this please contact our customer service team at customerservice@espguitars.com . Either way we hope you love your guitar.

Would it be possible in the future to get the LTD KH-602 with a natural glossy neck and a 305mm fingerboard radius? Also what's the reason for taking pau ferro over macassar ebony?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Paul, These models come as listed, no changes or options are given to production models. Pau Ferro has been used in recent years as a replacement for Rosewood which we stopped using for all LTD models a few years ago. Pau Ferro has similar characteristics. Kirk's models use rosewood fingerboards.

Do these have an issue with humidity? More than a guitar is expected too.. is there any issue with putting 10-46 strings on it? Does this guitar accept truss rod adjustments. ??? Please help !!

Todd B. ESP

Guitars should be kept out of very humid environments for prolonged periods. No problem putting 10-46 strings, but if these strings are put on then you will need to adjust spring tension, truss rod and intonation. Yes, the truss rods are functional in all our instruments, so you can adjust them to make the neck straighter or give the neck more bow to adjust for your playing style and setup. Update!

I purchased the KH602, ESP has made a believer out of me, sign me up, I am on the wagon.

Let me ask, i got lucky and found that my local guitar center was able to acquire this model but some they say they can’t. Now how does a man go about getting one of these beauties if they can’t get it in at the music store???
