Greetings All,

Just an update on my LTD D5 I bought 3 years ago. Still in love with the bass!! I purchased a pre-amp from East U.K.; the Uni-Pre 5. I left the standard PUPs in. Love the new tones. I know there's a lot of talk about the bartolini setup out there to get better tone.

The East pre-amp has all the tone correction as the bartolini set up PLUS a passive tone circuit that affect the active circuit. I am able to carve out all sorts of awesome new sound and feels from the bass. Definitely a boutique bass now for sure!!

I know it's a country tune but check out the tone from our latest recording. The set up is GHS ground wounds, Tech21 NYC Sansamp, Pigtronix Philosopher bass compressor (1st gen); directly into the board. Dig the tone!!

I just got mine today and I love it. The action is perfect l. I’m able to do taps, slaps, triplets and everything in between.  I play in a death core band and the punch is fantastic.  I have been playing LTD for a long time and I’m never let down with their products!!

It says L available. I assume that's Left-handed. Since I cannot find the left handed version on this site, do I simply look at a local third party store that sells LTD's?

Just got mine today.... I can’t believe the quality for the price! I got a factory second on clearance. I can’t see why this one is a second as I see no flaws.....

beyond happy again with ESP. I now own 4 ESP’s and plan on adding more...

glad you enjoy it!

1st bass I've bought new! Love the feel and the range of tones I can get from it. I play blues and jam band mainly. Using DR Legends on her and it's like no other... My main bass before was a '83 G&L L2000-E... get to retire her for this one. The feel, design and range of available tones of the D5 is has been a lot of fun to work with! Bright without being brassy, fat without being muddy and mixing the PUPs is woody to crunchy. Lots of controllable sustain and quick action. The burled top gets lots of comments and has an interesting effect with stage lights.

Thank you!
