The Sparrowhawk is the newest LTD Signature Series guitar for Bill Kelliher of the respected American metal band Mastodon. With a body shape designed by Bill based on elements of a number of different guitars he's admired, the Sparrowhawk has a vibe all of its own, while still retaining some classic aspects that make it outstanding for a variety of different genres. It features a set of Lace Sensor “Divinators” LTD pickups with matte black covers, which were specially designed for our LTD Bill Kelliher Signature Series models and not available anywhere else. Push-pull coil-splitting control is wired separately for each pickup for a variety of tones (pull up on tone knob for neck pickup coil split, and up on volume knob to split bridge pickup). The Sparrowhawk has a solid feel, with a maple-capped mahogany body, set-thru construction, and a smooth heel joint for fast access to the highest frets. It offers a three-piece mahogany neck with satin finish, a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with block inlays, and a TonePros locking TOM bridge and tailpiece to provide stability and sustain. The Sparrowhawk is available in Military Green Sunburst Satin or Pelham Blue finishes.

I hope new sparrohawk models will be available soon? It's an awesome guitar, the shape I expected !
I want a sparrowhawk !

Ivan C.

Shame these are [apparently] being discontinued. Bill and ESP did a great job with this model. Are there any plans for the Sparrowhawk? P.S. The specifications erroneously list 24 frets.

Carl N.

There will be sparrowhawks in the future

I'm waiting for a White version of this beautiful guitar!!

Hey Alejandro, that looks great! Where did you find that pic??!!

Alejandro C.

Todd B. ESP I made it, I'm a Graphic Designer, it's easy for me in photoshop!

So when do you think ESP can build this beauty?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Alejandro, ok got it. Looks really good. Not sure that we'll be able to do that color but we agree it looks cool. If the artist wanted to do this color we would most likely make it. thanks again for sharing it with us.

Hyrum v.

you could always get one painted and replace all the hardware with silver hardware.

Alejandro C.

Hyrum v. I know that but a factory made will be better, besides I barely could afford the guitar, a professional painting job is out of the question

Frank R.

Any chance of making a bass out of this body style?  I have something similar from another company, but love the Sparrowhawk shape.

Hyrum v.

I highly doubt this will ever happen because its a Bill Kelliher signature guitar. Bill Kelliher is the rhythm guitarist for the band mastodon, since he does not play bass i dont think this would ever be available as a bass

Todd B. ESP

Hi Frank, We have built something similar in the past (Phoenix Bass), but not exactly this shape. I don't see it showing up as a new bass shape but you never know.

Frank R.

Any thoughts on making those again? And in the same blue and green as Bill's guitars?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Frank, Probably not in the same colors but certainly possible to bring an old shape like that back into the lineup.

Ryan J.

I have this guitar. Bought it directly from Bill. At the right angle you can see that the top wood has some awesome flame figuring in it. If you guys made a see-through finish on any of these guitars that would be amazing.

Todd B. ESP

Hi Ryan, sorry for the late reply on this. Not sure that the factory would use a figured maple cap but it's happened before. Sometimes the "plain" maple will have some figuring in it, unexpectedly! If you can send the model info and serial number to our customer service team we would be happy to look up any more details you wanted to know. How can you see the figuring when there is a painted solid color over the top? Is it under the routes that you see the flame? Anyway, pretty cool...

Ryan J.

If you get at just the right angle, you can see a little of what looks like figuring. Kind of like a gibson BFG where the wood is raw. I'll take a picture next time I notice it. If you check out @spongebrick on Instagram he did a sparrowhawk refinish for a friend and it also had light figuring on top. It's now stained a pinkish color but a good example of the wood underneath the paint.
