Does esp Ltd Orion 5 comes with stainless steel frets?

Todd B. ESP

Hi, No it does not have stainless steel frets. They are standard NS (nickel silver alloy).

How does the tone of this compare to a normal P/J? Can it get a solid P bass tone? I play a lot of punk music and this bass has really got my eye, but just not sure how the tone compares to the standard jazz and P basses!

Hi James, When comparing EMG P/J pickups to traditional P/J passive pickups, there is a difference. The EMG sound is very clear, sharp, focused and not so round or warm as a traditional P/J passive. There is no noise with EMG also which is great. They are really punchy sounding. I'd say if you haven't tried one you gotta give it a shot. Chances are it will blow you away with the sound.

Hello ESP! So I’m used to playing thin C necks on my Schecter bass, and I really want to buy this bass, but I’m not sure how the Thin U would compare to it. Would it be as comfortable, and would it be that much more different? Any info would be amazing, thanks!

Hi James, The Orion 5 bass has a very comfortable neck shape and I believe it will be similar with what you are used to. It's not super thin but it's not very thick in my opinion. Here are the measurements of this neck. 20.5mm thick @1F / 22.5mm thick @ 12F / 45mm wide at nut / 67mm wide at last fret. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much! That helps a bunch, I really wanna buy this bass one day, and the Tom Araya 604 bass. Maybe some day!

Ok sounds great!

Heem

Hi ESP/LTD!
This bass looks killer and I consider buying one. But at the most webshops I see(and read) it has Seymour Duncan pickups, but here at espguitars.com it says it features EMG's. Have there been a change of the model? Like it even more if there is EMG's in it.

Thank you in advance!

Todd B. ESP

Hi Heem, Yes when this model was first released it was made with Seymour Duncan pickups, then it was changed to EMG at the beginning of this year. So you might find dealers who have Seymour Duncan pickups mostly unless they ordered and received their stock more recently (maybe in the past few months).

Oliwier K.

Does it exist in europe or do you have order it from the U.S?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Oliwier, Yes this model is available world-wide. However you may need to check with your local dealer or distributor if they have any stock of this model. We suggest that you contact your nearest distributor to inquire about this model. Here is a link to our distributor page: https://www.espguitars.com/locations?categories=intl-distributors
