M-1007 MULTI-SCALE

SEE THRU BLACK SATIN

$1,299.00

The LTD M-1007MS and M-1008MS are multi-scale guitars with the uncompromising playability and sonic power for which ESP is known worldwide. Multi-scale guitars make use of an angled fret arrangement to offer different scale lengths for the various strings of the guitar, allowing for optimal string tension, and has also been stated by many players to offer an ergonomic improvement for the fretting hand. Offering 7-string and 8-string arrangements respectively, the M-1007MS and M-1008MS have varying scale lengths of 27” - 25.5”. They are bolt-on designs that use a “drop top” of thick flamed maple that’s bent over a lightweight mahogany back. Both models offer a five-piece neck made of maple and exotic purple heart wood, with a Macassar ebony fingerboard that includes offset abalone dot inlays. Top-tier components on the new M-1007MS and M-1008MS include a set of Seymour Duncan Nazgul and Sentient pickups that were custom-made for ESP with a special angled design and pole spacing optimized for the multi-scale design. A push-pull control on the tone knob allows for coil splitting, providing a wealth of flexible tones. Other components include a Hipshot multi-scale bridge and ESP locking tuners. Available in See Thru Black Satin finish.

Andrew T.

Why did ESP go with a saddle that lacks tremolo arm ability? Would any of these Kahler bridges fit on this?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Andrew, the angle needed for intonation is quite severe, so there are currently no options for a tremolo bridge in this configuration. However we will consider this option in the future.

Zeverex

Why isn't the Natural finish option available in the U.S.?

Zeverex

I know that the 6 string version is available in natural, but I found a listing from Canada and another from somewhere in Europe that have the 7 string versions available in a natural finish rather than black. Is there a reason this option isn't offered in the U.S.?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Zeverex, I don't have a reason for you other than we only released 1 color in the US but overseas there were some distributors who requested this model in natural satin so it was made for the international market in that color.

Todd B. ESP

Hi Zeverex, The natural satin finish was only sold overseas. Currently we offer this model only in the See Thru Black Satin for the US market.

Zeverex

It would be great to have the option of a natural finish with chrome (or nickel) hardware available in the U.S. market in the future if possible. Natural may appeal to the non-metal players more while the chrome (or nickel) hardware would appeal to anyone who appreciates durability. On that note stainless steel frets are pretty cool aren't they?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Zeverex, thanks for your suggestions.

Andrew T.

why did ESP decide to go with a bolt-on instead of a set-thru?

EDIT (after ESP responded on 10 April 2019): in that case, does ESP sell replacement necks for this guitar?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Andrew, Bolt on seemed to be a more popular option for this style of guitar and this type of player. Of course there may be many players who would prefer this as a neck thru or set thru, but we decided on the bolt-on for this first release of our multiscale model. Thanks for your feedback.

Reui-Yan W.

Hello :

Do you have plan to make this guitar in reverse headstock and other color options ?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Reui-Yan, Not at this time but it's possible our multiscale offerings will grow.

Nick Y.

Please make a 6-7 string Eclipse shape multiscale

Todd B. ESP

Hi Nick, Thanks for your suggestion.

Zeverex

I would also be ecstatic if ESP/LTD made an Ecplise multiscale.

Todd B. ESP

Hi Zeverex, Thanks for that suggestion.
