Picked this up a few days ago. It's a fantastic instrument.

Pros: The nut is really well done. There are no dead spots and it rings out nice and clear. Fretwork is smooth...not a bump to be found. The locking tuners do the job, I've barely had to tune it. It looks gorgeous and it's extremely comfortable. Love the coil tap. I've always found it kind of useless on my Fenders and Gibsons, but it really changes the dynamic and clears up that low B string for recording clean tones.

Not necesarrily a con but something to be aware of. The pickups are pretty high output for passives. They have that scratchy grind... reminds me of a higher output JB.

Also, it's pretty neck heavy. But, I've experienced this with every seven string I've owned so it's not a deal breaker.

Mine is made in Indonesia. For what it's worth the difference between Korea and Indonesia is negligible. Maybe a few years ago it mean something, but with modern production I wouldn't give it too much thought. It was the same argument years ago with Fender and their Mexican produced guitars. The ones that are currently being produced are great.

I was on the fence for awhile regarding this purchase ( It's pretty expensive for an overseas guitar, especially in Canada) but I'm glad I bought in. It's a keeper.

Make this guitar with EMG's again!

Super Strat

No way, man! Keep the Duncans....Enough with the EMG's already!

Would love to see a 28" scale of this. please!

thanks for your suggestion.

Quick question: I currently own an Ltd SC607b in purple satin with 2 fishmans, will this guitar have a similar neck profile? I am wanting a 2 humbucker 7 string, but with a normally placed neck pickup and wondering about this one.

Todd B. ESP

Hi Lonnie, yes the necks have the same profile and specs so they should be very similar.

Lonnie S.

Thanks for the info. Love my SC607b’s neck and body, just wish the middle pickup was a true neck pickup. I have been playing passive Seymour Duncan’s since the 80s and this was my first experience with actives. Love the bridge pickup, just want that true neck pickup sound.

I bought this guitar 7 years ago and it came with EMG 81/85. Is this model no longer available?

Models get updated periodically, be sure to check our product archive for information on older model instruments.

Hi i have just purchased this guitar and its arriving tomorrow! But i want to change the factory spec strings from 10/13/17/26/36/46/59 and i want to go to 11/14/18/32/48/52/62, will i get away with this without having to file the nut at all? Can it cope with this guage of string?

Carl N.

Anytime you change string gauges or tuning it is best to setup the instrument to those specs, which would include working on the nut if different gauge strings are used.

Some Bare Knuckle Aftermath in it.

Carl N.

Looking good!

germanpadilla.

Are they fit good, Or you need to do some wood customization?

Carl N.

Looks like one to me, though if you need assistance regarding model identification you can reach out to our service department at customerservice@espguitars.com

the guitar is real. the picture has a lot of photoshop like sharpness 100, darkeness and grain.

Carl N.

Nice comment!

Samuel H.

So I've been looking at a few of these lately. Some are packed with emgs and others are Seymours. What are the significant differences in these models and why are there two different pickup options?

Carl N.

Hey Samuel, all of our H series instruments are equipped with Seymour Duncan pickups.  Perhaps you're comparing these to something else.

Alexander H.

Does this guitar have a satin or gloss neck?

Carl N.

Hey Alexander, the neck will be gloss like the rest of the instrument.

Jorge André G.

It's seems to be impossible install an Evertune bridge on this because of the bellycut behind. Maybe in the older model, with string thru.

Carl N.

Hey Jorge, we also offer an E-II Horizon with an evertune, so that you don't have to install one yourself.

Thomas P.

I love mine, it sounds awesome, and look stunning. I just put bare knuckles on it... I is a great step forward from the previous version

Todd B. ESP

Hey Thomas, That's great to hear! How do you like the Bare Knuckles and which pickups did you put in?

Thomas P.

I chose the ragnaroks, and I think they fit the guitar perfectly.

Todd B. ESP

Hey Thomas, thanks for posting that image. They do look great I must say. We'll have to check those out.

Hey there! As a great fan of ESP guitars who lives in Argentina (the " impossible to buy an ESP " country) let me share my painful desire to get one H1007. Maybe by miracle (or sweepstake)... Amazing piece of art guys!!! Regards from the edge of the world.

Todd B. ESP

Just give it a active mount duncans it would look slicker

Jimmy A.

Passive pickups was one of the main reasons I chose this guitar. The 7 string market is saturated with guitars installed with active pickups from the factory

Todd B. ESP

Hey Jimmy, Great to hear that from you. Thanks for sharing your preference.

Steven W.

I spoke to some people I know in Czech, and Australia. They have seen and played in them in stores. I wonder if its an import issue, or if the retailers just dont want to carry them.

New pickups? Interesting...
