Is this model currently being made in Korea? World Instruments factory?

Carl N.

These are currently made in Indonesia and Korea

One more question, the pots and capacitors would need replacing too, no?

Carl N.

Depending on the pickups you are installing then yes, be sure to have a professional handle this for you to avoid any unwanted damage to your instrument

Sim R.

So the battery compartment etc not an issue? Weirdly, some of the forums suggest it’s problematic, but if it’s not, then great cos I fancy that white ec1000!

Carl N.

Not sure how it would be an issue, it would just not be used for passive pickups.

Sim R.

But isn’t it much more challenging to pull out active pickups and replace with passives? So many of your nice guitars have active and it’s not my thing, but the rest of the specs are great!

Carl N.

It's all the same, active or passive swaps, if you can do one you can do the other just as easily.  Shouldn't take more than twenty minutes for someone that knows what they are doing.

Has this been discontinued in left handed? I only ask cos it’s the only passive pickup you had with ebony board. I’d wanna rip em out and stick some BKPs in you see!

Carl N.

Yes, this was discontinued at the end of 2019.  Some dealers may still have this on hand though.  Keep in mind you can swap pickups into any instrument, wouldn't need to have passive pickups to begin with in order to install passive pickups later.
