Which SD Custom is in the bridge, the SH-5 or the SH-14?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Jonathan, the model in the bridge is called "Custom 5". Duncan's part number is SH-14.  SH-5 is the original Custom which has ceramic magnets.

GingerMetal

It comes with an Sh-14.  Which is the alnico V version of the Sh-5 Custom.  The Distortion is the Sh-6

Hi Ginger, thanks for correcting me on that! You are correct. SH-14 is the Alnico V version of the original Custom (SH-5). I will update my previous comment.

Hey, I was hoping to garner some info on the satin finish version of this guitar with the Evertune bridge. All I've heard about it is that it's a Sweetwater exclusive. I'm just curious about the concept of it, why it wasn't released anywhere but Sweetwater, how many were made, etc. Any info you could give me I'd greatly appreciate it. Please.

Hi Vapoural, WE cannot list all the features here but if you go to Sweetwater you can see all the specs. We have a couple models that we make for SWeetwater exclusively as well as some other dealers such as GC. They are not listed on our website because they are not part of our regular product line. You can only purchase them from Sweetwater. We have been making this model for about 3 years or so but there is no information on how many have been made. Please visit their website to check out the specs.

Got mine today second hand from eBay and I'm happy! Good quality, stunning look, and amazing playability! Become my favorite guitar over my LTD Elite ST-1! Good job guys! 10 out of 10!!!!!!

I have the Koa EC-1000 and its awesome. The fit and finish is stellar and it sounds great. I started taking lessons about 2 months ago at a local music store and every time I take it out of the gig bag someone turns to look. It's really an eye catcher. I've had it for about a year and the only thing I don’t like is my inability to play it better. That’s on me, though. Does ESP/LTD have any recommended instructional video lessons or tutorials, etc for a classic bluesey rock kinda vibe?  The metal guys are awesome, but I'd love to learn to play in a more classic style like Jimmy Page, Warren Haynes, Joe Perry, etc.

Just do YouTube man. Sure you can find some good tutorials to get you started. Have fun don’t take it too seriously

This is a good suggestion, thanks Miguel!

HI Kevin, Thanks for your comments. Yes the EC-1000 KOA is a stunning guitar. Great to hear you like it so much! For lessons there are so many great players to give lessons and also you can find good tutorials on Youtube as another member mentioned. In many cases you'll get better results if you see a teacher on a regular basis. If so you will be held accountable for practicing and continuing to learn if you are seeing a teacher on a regular basis. I would check around in your local area and try to find a professional musician who gives lessons.

I watch Troy Grady and it helps so much. I’m also a big Tool fan ,, Axe of Creation is fantastic. There’s so many good tutorials on utube. Batio , Friedman , just a couple.Any genre of music u want to learn you can. I started playing June last yr , I can cover any Metallica , Tool , lamb of god not all but a few , laid to rest almost gave me tendinitis one week,  country music and also classical Beethoven  (Fur Elise) Bach ( High step 40) .I still suck lmao , some guys on utube do some unreal stuff makes me want more time.I can sweep fairly fast and triplets are down to a T no matter what it is. 30 hrs a week to get where I’m at ,, all utube with a touch of Rocksmith. I’m definitely an ESP guy for sure now.I wish I would of picked up a guitar when I was in my teens... I never thought I’d learn so fast.Im still a 40 yr old kid lmao , and I soak everything in still..
