Question About 2020 LTD Deluxe Viper 1000

    Hello, I'm new to the forum and just received an ESP LTD Deluxe Viper 1000 from Musician's Friend today.  The guitar I received looks different than the photo of the guitar on Musician's Friend and the ESP website.  The volume knob in the photos online is almost at the same level as the bridge and the pickup switch and tone knob is below them.  This is why I ordered it because I don't like the volume knob in the picking hand path.  The guitar I received has the volume knob right across from the TOM and the pickup switch is across from the bridge - so both are up higher than the online photos of the guitar shows.  I attached a photo of the guitar that I just took and I'm just wondering if it was a mistake in the build or if they just changed the build recently.  I'd appreciate any help or insight!

    Hey man, ESP makes some excellent works of art, try it out for a little while, see if you like the feel of the knob placement and the guitar, you may change your mind, if not, i'm sure you can return it to Musician's Friend for a refund or another guitar.  There's always been a method to ESP's madness when they design a guitar, I've got 2 ESP E2 M2 Urban Camo guitars and man I absolutely love them, the volume knob is a little close to the picking hand, but I've learned to work around it, just something that I had to get used to, now I don't have to reach as far to turn the volume down!!  My pinky can be my volume cutter!!!  Even though I play at full volume all the time anyways.  Yeah, dude, don't sell yourself short if you don't like it, return it, get another guitar, that's my advice.

      Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it!  I'm going to return it to Musician's Friend and get one at Sweetwater - there are 4 different guitars in Tiger Eye Sunburst.  When looking at each of them and zooming in, I'm a little wary because most of them look to have some imperfections on the fretboard and around the fret wire.  Some of the nuts don't look cut really good either.  If you get a chance to look, let me know what you think.  Thanks.
