Original Cry Baby AC Adapter Question

Hey I'm new here and had a question for whoever is knowledgeable about electrical stuff. I found out my dunlop wah requires the following specs for an AC/DC adapter: Input: 120v AC 60Hz 6w Output: 9v DC 200mA I checked around the house and could only find: Input: 120v AC 60Hz 10w Output: 9v DC 500mA I'm no electrician but I can see that what I have has a greater electrical current than recomended for the unit. Can I still use it or will something overheat or get damaged?

I wouldn´t use it. Check out any radioshack and get a unit with exact specs. The safe way

Theoretically, that's available current, it won't use it all if it's not needed. Ya know? Basically, you can run up to 500mA as long as the polarity and voltage are correct.

Probably better off with the correct one as there may be issues with excess noise otherwise. But it should work.
