Problems with wiring a guitar

    Hey guys, I've been trying to wire my guitar to a H-S setup and must be doing something wrong. When everything is wired up and seemingly ready to go, I'm having some issues with the single coil in the neck. When I flip the toggle switch to the neck position, I get nothing but a high pitched squeal. The humbucker in the bridge works fine. I rewired it a few more times over a period of a couple of months just to be sure I wasn't making a simple mistake, but the result was the same. Is there an extra step when it comes to wiring a guitar with one humbucker and one single coil? Or is the single coil just trash?

    Try removing the bridge from the switch and place the neck wires there as a test.
