customized signature guitars!!
I´ve got a modded Ltd sc-607b,
Sanded all the lack off from the neck, refinished it with gunstock oil,
bridge pup is a 707 instead the original 81-7,
tone pot has been replaced with emg tone expander,
there is a emg pickup split sim switch between the vol pot and the tone exp,
and an apple sticker ofcourse.
the tuners are still stock esp but ive been thinkin about changin them to some schaller/planet waves locking.
then it would be almost perfect:cool:
yeah with me, on my truckster i found that the volume switches were reversed from what i wanted, so i swapped positions. thats just a minor example but still. i think that a sig guitar could have a few reasons. some may love the player, the band, the look, functionality, sound, etc and could use that as a platform to expand upon or leave bone stock.
thanks for all the posts guys

I have a Cavalera AX in white and I’m still mulling around ideas for a professional refinish. I’m a HUGE Cavalera fan and have the new Cavalera Urban Camo coming in the mail this week and I plan to keep it all original. I’ve always preferred a fixed bridge, single humbucker 25.5” scale so the guitar has all the features and looks that I want but I really don’t like the white and would rather have it refinished to something that keeps true but is custom to me.
I am thinking of having the Brazilian flag graphic painted on it like his Viper model was but I know that’s next year’s model (well, I don’t REALLY know.) It’s either that or the winter camo his old warlocks used to be painted in. Either way, this guitar is both high quality and built just the way I like a guitar to function and It’s the axe of my favorite player so I meet all three.
Something’s gotta give with this one and once the Urban comes in this poor white one will be seriously neglected unless I get rid of that white.
Dude, you should totally keep your Truckster. They are great guitars.
and the options are endless.
I didn't want to paint it black, because I thought it would look weird
w/out the binding. However, the opportunity to score a real Gibson
has come up. but I don't think I'll have the heart to tare into it ?
It's perfect. an early 90's custom LP BB. that it the most perfect playing
guitar I've ever touched. I'll most likely drop gold EMG's in it.
I have 85 bridge/ 60 neck in the "Fuckster" and I think it's the perfect
combo for that guitar.
I tend to like the 85 w/ mahogany and the 81 w/ a maple cap.
ESP version is an amazing guitar. I have one as well. I think that's why I
didn't hesitate to mod the hell out of this one.
I've seen them sanded to look like they were clawed by an animal. Or
one like a "union Jack" That was at a convention. The guy was a real dick
about taking pix of it. Not wanting to be copied I guess ? But WOW ! was
it cool.
I thought of doing a Dixie flag version ? But it will take days to sand.
Maybe if I ever can score another one as cheap as I got this one for ?
I think those who are buying signature guitars prefer to keep it original because : It's a signature guitar.
