EC1000 pickup change

    I am thinking of changing the stock EMG 81/60 set in my ec1000fr for the newer EMG fat 55 set and would like to know if the existing pickups have the EMG plug in connector on the back of them (the pots do not for some reason, most likely a cheap deal from EMG for economy or older stock units)

    Yes, the pickups will have the quick connect.

    Personally, I think the soldered connections for the pots are far more reliable.

      Thanks, when I saw the solder joints I was a little worried but sowewhere else on this forum it was mentioned they did not use quick connect on the pots (things may have changed since though).

        I fitted the pickups this morning, nice and easy. I didnt have to use the supplied either as it was simply a matter of unplugging the 81/60 set and plugging in the Fat 55 set just I had hoped it would be.

        Nice pickups too!
