LTD EC 1000 VB

Greetings everyone! After selling my Schecter Omen 6-FR, I'm about to get an EC 1000 VB Deluxe, but I'm afraid about some details. First of all, I never played a Les Paul shaped guitar, and I can't test it out since I'm ordering it online. The thing is I always play in the same pose as classic guitarists (using my left leg as the main support), does it hold up that way? Or is it uncomfortable? I can't help but imaging that it won't hold steady and my right arm will get tired fast (I downpick a lot). The low-end of the body seems to be much bigger than strat guitars, so I suppose I'll find the bridge higher, forcing my arm into some weird pose. I don't know, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit How's the higher frets access? It looks like quite a trouble. As long as I can play up to the 22rd fret without any trouble I'm okay Hope I explained myself well Sorry for the broken english! Thanks in advance!

Dude I have one and it plays and sounds great. It's on the heavy side and very good tone. Mine is the ebony board with Emgs. Enjoy your new geetar!

My bad, doublepost.

Yes, it will feel different. It's just a matter of getting used to it, tho.

Fret access on EC's not bad, but I've played guitars with better access, TBH.

You can't test it out? Just get to a guitar shop and try one out. EC's are very different to play for me to a Schecter C guitar ( own a C1 ATX and have played a EC 1000 but didn't like it ). Weight balance is different so you will have to adjust though if you right handed and rest it on you left leg ( i.e. between your legs ) you should be fine. I love LP style guitars, but they somehow don't suit me. It's all in the feel of YOUR hands though. Buying unseen only if you can return the guitar or switch for an other guitar for me.

Yes, you can play Les Paul shapes in the classical position. That's how I've always done it.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
There is no way I can test it. I live in a rather small city, there are only chinese replicas and a few mid-range B.C. Richs, no ESP at all
There is this little shop that imports instruments upon request at very low prices, but it is more than a thousand miles away
I ordered them an EX 401fm, but thanks to the pseudo-socialist bitch we have for a president here in Argentina, it didn't pass through customs. Apparently they don't have info about that guitar in their end, so they can't apply the accurate taxes.
So my choices are either this, or the EC Vampire Bio-Tech... which I'm not even sure if it is already on production. Does anybody know? I haven't found any videos or pics of anyone with it
At least now I know it isn't impossible to play it the way I do

EC 1000 VB vs Biohazardtechskullsonguitar
Set-Neck Construction vs Bolt On
Gold Hardware vs Black Hardware
LTD Locking Tuners vs LTD Tuners
Tonepros Locking TOM Bridge & Tailpiece vs TOM bridge

EC 1000 looks to be a better instrument to me ( set neck and locking bridge and tuners ) but then again there will probably be a price difference.....

Norseman

Ah man that sucks!

Nate@SwiftMusicMN

Just tried it out, works fine for classical position it works great. Upper fret access is much better than other LP styles I've played.

I've played mine on top, reverse cowgirl and spoon and it always sounds great

The biohazardtechskulsonguitar is actually more expensive regardless of it's worst components. Basically you're paying more only to look cooler

Good to hear that man!
I'll just go for it

HAHAHAHA!
Now I'm stuck with these weird mental images

Biohazard guitar looking cooler is... not exactly how I'd put it. :p
