So I was looking around and I found this 270 for sale, but I noticed the skull and crossbone inlays and they look like stickers. Is this a possible fake or was this just how they were made 30 years ago?
Not a sticker. That's the epoxy and sawdust filler they use around inlays. In the days of the MM270 they weren't using CNC controlled routers for the inlays, so they often had a lot of filler.
As Pus said, that's how they were made 30 years ago and that guitar is definitely legit.
And for sale by a legit seller in Australia also.
Are you interested in buying one of these guitars?? They are awesome! I wish you all the best mate.
No specific plan, I won't customized it
Thinking of a refinish maybe, or leave it with its natural aging and find a genuine Zorlac Sticker.
I believe I sold that MM270 to that seller in Australia... were the tuners changed at any time, like were there holes from different types of tuners?
So it will be a board member to board member guitar
I didn't spot different holes...? , and didn't have to save the picture of the back of headstock
They seldom come up for sale man. Keep your eyes peeled, we always do.
