Yul Moreau: Metallica '80s Tone

ESP COMMUNITY MEMBER SPOTLIGHT! As guitar players, all of us are in search of the right tone, whatever that means to each of us. Tone is one of the most subjective things in life, which is exactly why ESP offers a wide variety of combinations of woods, pickups, and hardware that help make it easier for each player to find his or her own tone. In the case of community member Yul M., here's a guy who has painstakingly recreated the guitar tones of James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett from their landmark 1986 album Master of Puppets, doing sections of both "Battery" and "Disposable Heroes". We think it's safe to say that Yul pretty much nailed it on his ESP E-II V-II STD, a neck-thru-body guitar made at our Japan factory that includes an EMG 81 (bridge) / EMG 60 (neck) pickups.

If you're doing cool music with your ESP, ESP E-II, or LTD guitar, upload a video to the ESP site and we might select you as the next ESP Community Member to feature on our front page where thousands of other players can check you out! Get the details here.
