Corey Taylor has all but confirmed that the new Slipknot bassist is Allessando ‘Vman’ Venturella of Krokodil. He admits he got upset when he realised the musician’s tattoos gave away his identity in the video for The Devil In I. And he’s revealed that neither Venturella, nor the new drummer – thought to be Jay Weinberg after an online rant by ex-bandmate Laura Jane Grace – are full-time Slipknot members at the moment. Taylor tells the incidentally-named LA show Corey Taylor Talks: “Somebody already pointing out the tattoos. I was like, ‘Why didn’t we make him wear gloves?’ I was so upset. “We thought of all this stuff – we put the hood on him and then the mask, and he was like, ‘It’s really hot, guys.’ Then there’s his tattoos for everybody. We missed the mark on that one.” He says of Venturella and his fellow newbie: “They’re not official band members yet, but they’re people who play with the band. Time will tell whether or not they’re full members. So far they’re doing really well and we’re enjoying jamming with them.” Taylor recently told Metal Hammer that Slipknot had no intention of revealing the new mens’ names “unless we absolutely have to.” He added that he’d “loved the way” Lamb Of God drummer Chris Adler played up the incorrect rumour that he’d played on upcoming album .5: The Gray Chapter. - updated 2014-10-08 15:25:04 UTC

Sacked Slipknot sticksman Joey Jordison has once again been voted the best drummer in metal.

Readers of MusicRader cast more than 34,000 votes in the poll which saw the Scar The Martyr man come out on top ahead of Avenged Sevenfold's Arin Ilejay in second place.

On Jordison's victory, MusicRadar says: "While Slipknot have spent the 12 months since parting company with their drummer getting back to work, it's clear that Joey's drumming legacy stretches far beyond the confines of that band, and this award shows his loyal fanbase has not left his side. He may have been quiet of late, but we can't wait to see and hear what he's cooking up next."

The poll comes a year after Jordison was named the world's greatest metal drummer by readers of Loudwire. And in 2010 he was named the best drummer of the last 25 years by drum magazine Rhythm.

Dave Grohl Told Rolling Stones :-

There was an Ozzfest in England in 1998, and Korn canceled. So we got the call. It was Slayer, Pantera and Black Sabbath. We had to go on after Pantera. I was so terrified: ‘There’s gonna be a riot. I’m gonna get drawn and quartered. No one’s going to like our band.’
But we played, and I looked to the side. The guys from Pantera are watching us and singing the lyrics to our songs. Afterwards we made friends with Pantera. I was nervous and scared; I didn’t think I fit in. But they were so open to us. That backstage hospitality we try to have – it all came from Pantera. [Guitarist] Dimebag Darrell was the nicest fucking guy in the world. He could walk in and do a shot of Crown Royal with Justin Bieber, with Rick Nielsen, with James Brown – he was everybody’s best friend. And you could feel that energy when he was playing.
After that day, I was like, ‘From now on, everybody’s allowed in this room. I don’t care if it’s Britney Spears.’ I became the backstage best friend. Whenever I showed up at a festival, the first thing I’d do is grab a bottle of whiskey and go knocking on doors to see who the funniest people are. You’d be surprised who the real fucking nutcases are.
