Pushead replied to the forum post Tailpiece height on TOM's

Yeah, but Gibson also recommends you let a computer tune your guitar.Again, YMMV.  I prefer it decked.  I've never noticed a difference in tone, and the "tension" difference is enough to bother me.......MORE »

Pushead replied to the forum post pink esp, possible CS info required!

Did you buy that from a guy named Bill?  I think he posts here (or used to.)  His is the only one I've ever seen like that, but to be honest, I'm not totally sure it matches exactly.......MORE »

Pushead replied to the forum post Tailpiece height on TOM's

I've never experienced "tone robbing" with a decked TOM.  Some people like it decked because it reduces the compliance (adds preceived tension) to the strings.  I prefer them decked.  Your milage may vary.......MORE »

Pushead replied to the forum post EMG Tone pot into Volume...

Though it's been a while, I don't believe the tone pot in the solderless setup has a separate capacitor.  I think it's built into the circuit board that connects to the pot.......MORE »

Pushead replied to the forum post Poly on the nut

They just polish the ebony really well.  In a few weeks it'll wear down. The poly over the nut is common for ESP.  An experienced luthier will be able to replace the nut without any issues.  That's what razor......MORE »

Pushead replied to the forum post What does "CTM" mean?

It depends on the guitar.  It may have been made at the custom shop.  A "K" serial number was made at the Kiso Custom Shop.  Custom Shop guitars can also have the CTM designation, it's a designation of the......MORE »

Pushead replied to the forum post What does "CTM" mean?

It's an abbreviation for "custom."  But in ESP's case it's more of a notion that the model has custom appointments than that it was necessarily made in the Custom Shop.  So on an Eclipse, for example, it would......MORE »

Pushead replied to the forum post Grover tuners on MH1000

The better way to tune to a pitch (any pitch) is to tune up to the note.  No matter how good your tuners are, there is some slop in the gears.  By tuning from below the tension of the strings keeps gears locked......MORE »
