Road King replied to the forum post ESP Alexi Laiho Scythe specifications?

I just saw it in the 2007 export catalog. You would have had the option to get the US or export shape. You probably have the standard model on page 31. http://www.espguitars.ru/info/catalogs/katalog-esp-export-2007/......MORE »

Road King replied to the forum post ESP Alexi Laiho Scythe specifications?

Most people don't realize this is the USA site. We didn't get the scythe model in 2007, so you won't see it in our catalogs. It was an export model that year. Go check out the catalogs on the Russian site.......MORE »

Road King replied to the forum post EMG 57/66 set

Cool. Btw, I did not instantly love the 57/66 set. Took me a bit to really appreciate the differences between them and other EMGs. If you don't like them, you can always trade someone for other EMGs. Nothing to lose. Quick......MORE »

Road King replied to the forum post EMG 57/66 set

I think it has either alnico magnets or pole pieces though. The set is more bright and clear vs an 81/60. So you can really hear individual notes well with clean picking parts and solos with gain. But they of course have......MORE »

Road King replied to the forum post EMG 57/66 set

The 81 blows. I think the 57/66 set may be the best humbuckers EMG makes now. Same great EMG sound with the gain cranked, but they do vintage and clean sounds a bit better.......MORE »

Road King replied to the forum post Custom Order Snakebyte

That's probably a graphite nut, the kind I prefer. ESP will pretty much do anything (see the custom gallery) since they are very skilled. I think the snakebyte would look cool with just the snake inlay and no dots. I'm......MORE »

Road King replied to the forum post Serial Number Prefixes

They didn't do the prefixes back then. It started in 2003 with the standard series (i.e. SS03). And then they added the signature series in 2005 or 2006. My guess is ESP guitars had to add more shops to keep up with demand.......MORE »
