The pickups look to be just a standard side 5 string Jazz bridge and a P bass mid pickup.  It should be that the whole world of pickups are available to you. Youtube some tone samples and find out what you like.......MORE »

Yes, but I believe the tongue of the neck goes further into the body to make up for the reduced glue surface.  The ESP guys will know better than I.......MORE »

Pushead replied to the forum post Set neck / Thru body neck

Your Eclipse is a set neck.  The wood of the neck goes about 1/3 of the way into the neck pickup cavity. This is a gibson, but the construction method is the same.  There's wood available to do what you're thinking about,......MORE »

As for the serial number, it wouldn't really surprise me.  It also wouldn't surprise me that they were guitars that were received in exchange as a warranty repair that were refurbished and refinished.......MORE »

It sounds weird, but they cut the maple into 3 pieces to make the neck stronger. Usually they'll reverse one of the pieces of maple so that the grain faces the other way. I guess this helps combat warping.......MORE »

Absolutely.  During that era, the different "factories" had different specialities.  There were "Custom Shop" level instruments made at each, and there were "Standard Series" guitars made at each.  It just really depended on......MORE »

It's legit. The screw version Floyd is an older model and may have been replaced along the way.  The "S" serial number may be a mistake.  A single "S" is usually the prefix for Custom Shop built guitars from the Sado......MORE »

Pushead replied to the forum post Is this ESP M-II Custom Shop legit?

Yes, legit but not necessarily Custom Shop.  In the 90s and early 2000s the "ESP Custom Guitars" circle logo was used on every guitar sold outside of Japan. I suspect it's just a "normal" production guitar.  That doesn't make......MORE »
