I bought one of these used on a whim because it came up locally, I usually play a 5 string Bass in a Bar Band every weekend. These basses are incredibly versatile. The neck (with it's double truss rod) is as solid as any Bass I've ever played and the neck is amazingly slim for a 6 string. The support for these basses by the manufacturer is excellent, I really can't recommend them enough.

I recently bought one of these and the bass is absolutely gorgeous, the spalted top is amazng. Fit and finish are top notch. Two things let me down; the tuners and the pickups. With the strings off the tuners all wobble, which is not something I have on any of my other basses, They are solid when the strings are under tension. Still, a minor annoyance.

The pickups are terrible. They have no volume to them. I have adjusted my string height, and done what I can, and they make no noise. Or rather very little. I have to turn the volume up on my amp and they need to be replaced, which is a disappointment. Still everything else about the bass is great so i will keep it.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels that way about the pick ups / electronics...

The active 3 band EQ is "flat" with everything in the middle notch. If the preamp on the bass has each EQ knob 100% counter clockwise, that would be the equivalent of turning every EQ band on your amp to 0. If you cut every frequency on your preamp, no wonder you're cutting volume! I own this bass and I can guarantee the pickups have a healthy output when everything is at least in the middle notch.

Hi ESP team. I am interested in this bass but I just want to know if the pickups are passive or active and will this bass fit in any other case than the recommended?

Hello! I was curious about making adjustments to the 2 truss rods on this model of bass.

Are there any tips on how to approach adjusting this style of neck? Are these truss rods both dual action?

I've been setting up guitars/basses for several years, but I've never encountered a neck with 2 truss rods. I've looked extensively on the internet & have found no resources about the nuances of adjusting necks like this. Any tips or information you can provide would be super helpful!
