I can tune the same guitar many times.
i play in standard, drop D, Drop C#, Drop C, D standard, Drop B, Drop A#, and C standard.
I need six: three guitars and three basses. I play in Drop C, Drop B and Drop D.
I play in standard, half step, drop D, drop C#, drop C, C standard, and drop A# and want at least two guitars for each tuning.
It's easier to go between tunings on stage if you have a specific guitar for that tuning.
drop B (parkway drive)
Above the Floyd Rose.
provided that its 6 strings only then i need 5 guitars. 7 strings, i only need one.
Dropped C is the only tuning Humanity=Insanity uses, however i always take a backup.
Tuning good variant
usually one looks different tunings so you end up using several guitars
only a couple. I have an 8 string that gets rid of the need for a lot of guitars in different tunings i
4... Drop C, Drop Bb, standard E and 7 strings! \m/
i only play E standard, but i need more than 5 guitars!
I can never have enough!
If I had a show that played everything I could play I could probably escape with 4 alone. Given any show I can usually stick to 2.
1 for E (standard)/D, Eb/C#, C, B/A (7 string), A#
3, E standard, Drop D and Eb, its a pain in the arse tuning every 30 minutes :(
2, one for Dropped C the other for Dropped D/E standard.
I use one for Standard and Drop-D. another for Drop-C and the seven string in A tunning
