  Slayer Wins the GRAMMY®

ESP sends our congratulations to Slayer for their GRAMMY® award in the “Best Metal Performance” category at the 50th Annual GRAMMY® awards. For two years in a row, these masters of metal (featuring longtime ESP endorsees Jeff Hanneman and Tom Araya) have taken the top honor in the category. The awards were held on Sunday February 10, 2008.

Slayer won the award for “Final Six”, a track off their latest album Christ Illusion (American Recordings/Columbia). Weʼre also happy to say that the category was filled with other ESP artist nominees, including Machine Head featuring guitarist/vocalist and ESP endorsee Rob Flynn. Also, ESP player Jon Donais of Shadows Fall had his band get honored with a nomination for “Redeption” off their record Threads of Life (Atlantic). Additionally, in the category of “Best Rock Instrumental Performance”, long-time ESP endorsees Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield of Metallica were nominated for “The Ecstacy of Gold” from the album We All Love Ennio Morricone that was released on Sony Classical.

Congrats again to Slayer and all the ESP family members who were honored with GRAMMY® wins and nominations this year! If you want to be a future award winner, you already know what guitar you need to make your dreams a reality!
