what is everyone's favourite esp and amp?? and why??

Zealmet

I can't say that I'm fairly competent (I'm not able to use a lot of different equipment items), but my choice is

ESP LTD EX-307:

LTD, because it is inexpensive

EX series because I like explorers))

307, because I think that 7-strings provides more features for metal

Amps... I like mid-scooped powerful death-metal tone. Well, I've got it with both amps that I tried to use: Peavey 6505+ and it was easy, 5 minutes settings; and Randall rg50tc, but with Randall I had to use additional EQ in loop, and setting takes a long time.

Marshall JVM 410 is my weapon of choise. You can play on it every possible genre of music. I has a very large tonal palette. Great amp.

Peter W.

I use a custom ESP Horizon 7 string and I run it through a Peavey 6505 head and a Blackstar Series one oversized cab laoded with Celestion v30s

Schwaba

i have a couple horizons 6 string an 1 7 string ltd h-1007 (horizon) but i was thinking i would love a custom 7 string horizon did the custom shop horizon cost heaps?? 6505 are good for metal but cleans arent great so i been trying out a few heads and the mesa mark V is awesome just $$$ but think the 5150iii is pretty versatile too for alot less than the mark V...

mike p.

hows it going everyone

A Marshall... with a Randall not too far behind

What do you guys use to get a smooth metal sounding lead when recording?

Triton P.

I like to use a Bogner or Marshall amp with an overdrive pedals or a nice warm tubescreamer and I like to use the same mic and cab as the rhythm tone. Though the sound mostly comes from how you play I have noticed that if you use a different amp for lead tones when recording that the contrast helps make the lead sound stand out and can appear more fluid/warm.

What amp do you guys believe sounds the best for metal? How do you feel about Marshall or Orange amplifiers?

Dann Feltrin

Man... I like Orange amps!!! BUT the question is about sounding best for metal... well, I trust ENGL, Peavey (only 5150 and the new 6505+) and Blackstar for anykind of modern metal!

Triton P.

I have been able to get great metal tones with Marshall and Orange amps, but I think I prefer them for a good smooth lead tone. For rhythms I like Randall amplifiers the most.

I just recently order the LTD Kill'Em All Guitar because it looks so sweet!!!!

Brings me back to my teen years when the album was unleashed to the public.

I haven't recieved it from FedEX yet.

I'll be getting mine on Dec.31, and my question is.....

Does anyone happen to know why out of only 300 ESP LTD Metallica Kill'Em All guitars made worldwide some of them have a Silver Metallica Inlay in the fret board and some are in Red?

What's the reason for the color change?

Anybody?

Brandon W.

Ill be sure to let ya know if I find anything

My favorite band is Metallica. My favorite guitarist is James Hetfield, my favorite piece of music they play would be The Four Horsemen. Everysong is great they have but my favorite is 4 horsemen, creeping death, ktulu, puppetz, ride the lightning, through the never, and their cover song Mercyful fate, the wait, small hours, whiskey in the jar, overkill, and turn the page.

david g.

mine right now would be alexi laiho, will adler, mark morton, john 5,jason hook, and all the guys in iron maiden ..but it changes with my mood lol

Bartosz S.

Alexi Laiho, Kirk Hammett, Chris Broderick, Jeff Hanneman, Jimi Hendrix, Dimebag Darrell

Luis

Favorite guitarists for me would be James Hetfield and Trey Azagthoth.

Nicholas R.

I would say my favorite guitarist changes, but the top favorites usually includes Dave Mustaine, Jens Ludwig, Alexi Laiho, James Hetfield, Gus G, and Chris Broderick, and for music they play its too hard to chose, dont torchure me

Joost

lately it has mainly been

Five finger death punch!
A7X
StoneSour ( dunno if it counts as metal?)
