With no offense meant; no one fakes guitars in that price range because there is no money to be made by the counterfeiters.

I'm sure the difference is either year of production or the factory where the guitar is made. If you're buying from an ESP authorized dealer, you should have nothing to worry about.

 

I am looking for an ESP LTD M-10 but I keep finding 2 versions:

 

 

 

​Both of instruments pictured are LTD M-10 models.  During the course of this instrument's production there have been minor hardware and aesthetic changes made to this model.  ​

The one with M-10 at the 12th fret is the gloss black version.

The one without M-10 at the 12th fret flat satin black version.

There is also a 24 fret gloss black version that comes with some of the kits/packages.
