New LTD Guitar, Yellow clear coat

New LTD Guitar, Yellow clear coat

Hi,

Bought a new MH1001FR online from a major company vendor.  It appears that the clear coat was was overexposed in the UV clearcoat process, turning the coating yellow and thus the guitar green.

After the one-year ESP manufacturing warranty expires, I am thinking of refinishing the clear coating.  What kind of clear coat is used for the LTD MH-1001FR line?

Thank you.

Hello Thrash8315,

ESP uses a polyurethane material for all its color and top coats. As a side note, ESP offers a limited lifetime warranty that will cover the instrument for the lifetime of the original purchaser, with hardware and electronics only being covered for one year from the purchase date. Refinishing the instrument will void the remainder of the instrument's limited lifetime warranty. You may find all the necessary information by following the link below. Thank you for your interest in our instruments!
