Broken Truss Rod Nut Eclipse II

    Hey guys, I just bought my first ESP used on craigslist for $800 (plus a boss DD7)... Thought scored a killer deal..

    Its a eclipse II black and gold.... 

     I was so stoked, Ive wanted one for over ten years.

    I restrung it with my favorite strings (EB skinny top heavy bottoms)  and noticed a buzz..

    So I popped the the truss rod cover off and this is what I see... 

     

     

     

     WTF!!!  The inside is totally stripped out and theres a chunk taken out of the outside!

    Has anyone done truss rod work on these eclipses?  whats the anatomy of these truss rods?

    cant I just replace the nut?

     

    any info would be appriciated

    I believe they're all single-action truss rods, so replacing the nut should fix it.
