Starting to Learn Bass

    Hello all; new member here.

    I recently (more like a 5 years ago) picked up an ESP LTD 5-string bass (I believe it's a B-series) and I'm finally now getting around to learning to play. Does anybody have any good resources on where to start? I tend to lean towards rock, metal, and progressive music (if that will influence your recommendations at all). I do know some basic music theory.

    There are a lot of good instructional videos for all skill levels for 4, 5 and 6 string bass on YouTube.

      Play with anything; a group a record, cd or tape. Playing with other people speeds up the learning process exponentially. Willie P
