Weird LTD logo on my ec 1000 DELUXE stbc
my ec 1000 DELUXE stbc is a little different I noticed... it's real heavy for one... headstock logo looks like child's writing.... I've looked all over for answers... none... also some of the standard markings on the back othe the headstock are missing (esp and rohs stamp) and last but not least... the truss rod cover has "ESP" on it in white... oh one more thing... according to my research... LTD started the Deluxe line in 2003.... my serial number is "Korea W0216689" and from what I read from how to read LTD's serial numbers... mine is from 2002... which doesn't make sense... can someone plz help explain this to me...

If you look at one of the older catalogs (link is to 2000), you can see LTD had a scribble-style script logo on the Vipers and F series guitars.
In that era, there wasn't a ROHS stamp, and my old LTD MH-301 from that era had no ESP marking on the back of the headstock either. A black truss rod cover with a white ESP logo was common for that era.
Here's the photo in his avatar. Everything about this is logo and truss rod cover legit from the era.
Perhaps you have one of the earliest EC-1000s. Certainly no one would fake that much abalone purfling.
You don't need to wrap the string around the tuner with Sperzels. You can just run it through, lock it and tune it.
Pics would help.
