Hi Matt, welcome to the boards. Could you please post a link to your clips / gear pics etc? Cheers
I didn't recognize the name and thought the post was a little odd so I did a tiny bit of digging. He is on the ESP Artist list, but his link from there just goes to his forum profile which offers little detail. His band name is Crimson Symphony and he has a kickstarter active for completing his (first?) album.
Personally, I would suggest that whoever created this thread either change the profile name to something other than Matt Gibson, or change the post so that it reads in first person. Posting as "Matt Gibson" and then using third person such as, "come join...ESP Artist Matt Gibson and his special guests" comes off kind of...well I'll stop there so as not to be a dick.

But hey, dinner's on him!
Hi guys! This is actually Matt Gibson posting on my own account here...when I made this post I was in a hurry to get the word out so that some of my fellow ESP players could hear about the online event. I normally post in the 1st person but I copied and pasted the event ad into the forum. Since this was my 1st forum post I hope you will excuse my breach of good form.
Also, FYI as far as the Kickstarter is concerned, that was a failed attempt (from about a year ago) to raise money for my record. As you pointed out, perhaps it was not executed as well as it should be ;)
That said, I plan to be much more involved in the forums and I hope you will give me a break for being a noob ;)
I am not even close to being the greatest guitar player in the world but I do know a thing or two about networking and Google+. I currently own the largest guitar community on Google+ and have over 1,000,000 followers as well. I specialize in bringing players together and helping others think about ways that they can expose their music to the world. I am currently writing my entire record LIVE on YouTube using On-Air Hangouts. I try to keep it as real at it can be with no edits. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you. I would love to Hangout and talk guitars and music with any of you so give a shout if you are interested in checking out Google+. Matt Gibson

Gotcha on the kickstarter. Its the first time I've seen something like an album recording on there...didn't realize that was a thing people could do.
Listening to Empty...the drums sound a little too quiet in the mix imho. Material sounds pretty cool though. Definitely on the fringe of what I personally would listen to, but it seems well written and the vocals are solid. Vocals like that are easy to fuck up and hence ruin the whole production...these are pretty solid. The guitar solo could be a little louder too.
You've got a pretty strange (to me) thing goin with the youtube/google+ thing and broadcasting all the writing. Good luck with finishing the project, I definitely know what it is to have an 'album in the works' for that long.
ChainOfThought: Empty was recorded more than 2 years ago fyi. My recording/Mixing/Playing have come a long way since then I hope! Thanks for the kind words. The guitar solo was an afterthought scratch track. I just finished up my Masters Certificate from Berklee in Pro Tools Production and I'm finishing up my Singer/Songwriter cert this semester. I have completely studio created drum tracks for all of the 11 tracks on the CD and I am currently laying down the guitars and vocals in my home studio. Here is a newer video of me writing lead parts for one of the tracks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVS25Ho1UIc
Ozzfun: My Last name might be Gibson but I am a loyal ESP player :) I think they can make an exception LOL.
Gotcha, you know more than I about all this shit then. Just a hobby for me, been focusing a lot on the mixing/recording side of things for the past year or two so it's what I automatically listen for in clips now.
