Which of these headphones for monitoring/mixing?

Ok, so I have settled on one of these two for mixing/monitoring. I don't want to buy one for each, but my main use for them will be for monitoring. Sennheiser HD 380 PRO or Shure SRH840 ??

I have the Sennheiser 280 pro's and use them for everything...so my vote goes for the 380's

I've always had great experiences with Sennheiser's studio headphones. I still use HD 280's. For monitoring, closed-back headphones are what you should be looking for anyway, so it's not essential to buy one headphone for each purpose if your primary use case is going to be monitoring.

You've used 280 but your vote is for 380?

Old thread, but just to chime in, I haven't tested the ones OP mentioned. However, for monitoring AND mixing I would favor open-back headphones. Since OP has a $200-250 budget, I would go a different direction and recommend Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO.
