Recording Software / Plugins

    Now that I finally got my recording setup up and running, and since theres a lot of you guys out there that have a shit-load more experience recording than me I'd like to get an idea from you guys about what DAW, favorite plugins, and drum program you use and why. I am currently using Cakewalk Sonar 6 (no particular reason) and am finally getting the hang of the basics....started recording my first cover and would like to start on the drums tomorrow when Im done with the guitar tracks.

    You do need a Guitar Port or some sort of Line6 hardware for POD farm right ? Or can you just use it as a plug in in Cubase like Guitar Rig wihout hardware ?
