Seymour Duncan Blackouts

I have EMG's in both of my ESP's, but I've read alot of good reviews about the SD Blackouts. I recently put my PRS in to get the Blackouts installed, and I was just wondering what anyone thinks about them. I kind of took a chance on this one. I love EMG's but I'm always trying to find something better.

i have blackouts in myvbt700, they sound great IMO. more focused, less scooped, more open, like, wider sounding. im planning on puttin a set into my next rg, cus i want an S with Emgs. i like the tone of both brands, its hard to choose between them.

but i doubt you'll be dissapointed.

They definetly have more output than the EMG's, but not extremely significant, but there is a difference there. They have a bit of passive characteristics to them, especially when you do leads. They have a warm sound to them. I prefer the EMG's over the Blackouts, as I like the voicing of the EMG's better. Love that cold sound for metal! They're not better than the other, they just sound different.

They are only as cold as your amps EQ.
