6505+ problem.

I have a little problem with my 6505+, maybe somebody here could help me. On the clean channel, it seems like it wants to break up. It does the same when i turn the crunch on as well. When i go to the lead channel, i have almost nothing for sound. Could i have a bad tube? I checked my pre-amp tubes and the first 2 in the chain are real dim, but the last 4 seem to be ok. Any ideas?

sounds like you need to replace some tubes!

I think that it's kinda fishy that two tubes are going bad at once. It is definitely a cheap way to trouble shoot it by just buying some new preamp tubes, but I'm thinking that it might be something more than just tubes that might require a look at by a tech.

I'd say get a matched set, and replace them all.

dont quote me, but i think ECC83's and 12AX7's are the same thing.

They are, but each individual tube in your amp should be matched, even if they're all of the same type.

Hit up Eurotubes!
